Wonderful Swedish love.

My beautiful Swede, Ms. Amkiram, has the loveliest friends and family visiting this month. We persuaded Amki to move here 2-3 years ago, and since then, we've met no one from her past life in Sweden!

That changed this past week! Amki's brother Daniel, his fiancee Jessica, and their friend Tilda all arrived on the tail end of a trip around the world.

As you can see, we played that game with the name I can never recall! SO EXCITING FOR ME. (The game where you put the name of a person on your forehead and have to guess who you are by asking yes or no questions. Very hard to play when half the room grew up on a separate continent, let me tell you.)

They regaled us with tales from their trip and told riddles well into the wee hours of the night. Serious laughs were had, neighbours were pissed. I think when the neighbours get pissed, it is the sign of a good evening. And very sensitive neighbours.

Although I enjoyed the whole evening overwhelmingly so, there is always a soft spot in my heart during the moments when Amki picks up the guitar. So many beautiful songs! And so many silly Swedish tunes!

I wanted to share my favourite, so here is Amki and Daniel singing about a little drunken ant. Explanation of the song is provided by Amki at the end:

Can we keep all the Swedes, please? ♥

  1. I finally get to see these swedes! At last.

Wish I was home. That video is awesome (awesome song) and also makes me miss home. Amki is wearing one of the scarves I discarded in things I couldn't take with me, I see my art on the walls, I hear my favorite people. It's like I'm still there in spirit. Miss everyone. : (
