I have mentioned it before: I live and breathe for my ME days. The days where I turn off my phone and spend some lovely and much needed time with myself.
My last me day was Saturday and it went something like this...
Lots of bad TV and good movies. I may or may not be known for my Jersey Shore love. I watched It's Kind of a Funny Story. I HIGHLY recommend it.
For supper I made lemon pepper chicken. Yum, yum, yum! My day also included a trip to the grocery store - I love shopping for a special meal with fresh ingredients.
I took a two hour long bubble bath. The bath is my favourite part of the day. I love the feeling of my head floating on the water with my hair waving around like magic. The sounds around me are all distorted and it's like entering another world.
I do a lot of reading while cuddled in my snuggie on the couch and in the bath. Currently reading Something Borrowed - it's a decent read.
And with both meal and bath I am having a cocktail or two, wouldn't you?
Anybody else out there all for the "me" days?

I miss ME days!!! Those happen maybe once a year now, haha.....ahhh :'S
ReplyDeleteI have not had a me day in who knows how long. This week I will try my hardests to have a me day because I sure need to focus on myself.
ReplyDeleteI definitely have ME days, usually Sundays and I love it. I lounge in my jammies all day, watch movies and craft or just lay around if I don't feel like doing anything. It's such a good way to recharge your batteries!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day! We are moving soon and I am keeping my fingers crossed that our new house will have a tub :)
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why do we only have a shower in this house? I miss having a nice long (LUSH) bath!
ReplyDeleteknows I dies for a good me day! I love just sitting around reading trashy books I've read a hundred times before and skimping around the house in whatever I want and making food and listening to bad music. Sometimes I hate when Dave comes home haha.
ReplyDeletei do that in the bath too haha, i put my laptop in there and watch trash on iplayer too hubbie goes mad in case i get it wet !
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't think women take enough 'me' days. Even though I don't have any children, I always seem to be running ragged. This is such a lovely, inspiring post. Nothing better than a long bath, a good book, lunch by yourself somewhere fancy and trashy TV in the evening. So glad I found your blog :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh. A me day sounds so perfect right now. I think I need one about every couple weeks though! Life catches up with me pretty quickly. ;]
ReplyDeleteYours sounded lovely!
That sounds so appealing! I just downloaded It's Kind of A Funny Story per your recommendation. Defs having a bubble bath t'mar! :)
ReplyDeletesounds like a nice day!
ReplyDeleteoooo that movie looks good. will u re-email me the rules to ATC thing? thanks much
ReplyDeleteOh to have a "me day". I'm thinking I might need one soon.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect "me day" would involve sleeping in (never happens) and for my hubs to take our son out for the entire day.
I would then watch girly tv, have a long LUSH bath, do some baking and maybe some crafting.
i do love me days! i like to go to barnes and noble and drink coffee whilst catching up on all my gossip magazines:)
ReplyDeletei don't know about the turning off your phone bit, but other wise this sounds delicious...and those pictures tell a great story of a me day!
ReplyDeletesounds perfect! i loooove bubble baths with a good book ;) i think i liked something blue a little more than something borrowed, though i just saw the movie version yesterday!
ReplyDeleteOh me days, how I love them. Lemon chicken sounds deeevine!
ReplyDeleteI think I need a "me" day. Maybe that's why I'm slightly "funked" lately!
ReplyDeleteI miss my me-days. I will definitely have more of those when I move back to Sweden. When you live with 3 roomies, no matter how much you love them, you don't often get a moment to yourself, let alone a day.
ReplyDeleteWeee for meee-days!
*hugs*
