The time we spent together was so precious. I don't even really remember talking much, we were just present in the moment. Every problem had been left behind.
For anyone else, they might have been bored. We picked berries. We did crosswords. There was lots of 30 Rock and bad reality television. We ate at roadside diners. I cooked a lot of superb food, as Sierra is my favourite person to cook for (she appreciates and loves every morsel). We drove through communities so tiny that people waved at us as we drove by - it's the kind of stuff I live for.
Sierra and I also have this... thing we do. Whenever we are together (it started when we were roomies a couple years ago), we spontaneously burst into song. Often not any song you would have ever heard before. But one we make up right there on the spot. We've made up hundreds! Our favourites will certainly go down as "Mama Sarah Gonna Feed You" and "Baby, We Can Share a Knife (Forever)". This is a true story - judge if you have to.
So needless to say, there was a whole lot of smiling. A ton of relaxing. And just a peaceful silence that only true friends can achieve properly.
We wish you could have been there. ♥
